Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has captivated audiences’ attention in recent months, boasting Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. With filming underway, anticipation surges as fans await the grand cinematic rendition of this epic tale with a stellar cast. Initial reports hinted at KGF star Yash portraying Ravana, but recent developments suggest otherwise.

Speculation surrounding Yash’s portrayal of Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has circulated for some time, fueling fan anticipation. However, enthusiasts may be disappointed to learn of the actor’s decision.

According to a report by Zoom, Yash has opted out of the role of Ravana but remains connected to Nitesh’s project as a producer. A source revealed, “Yash resisted the offer to play Ravana for a long time. He agreed finally only as a producer. Rather than accept a fee (of around ₹80 crore), he agreed to come on board as a producer.” The report also highlights the director’s frustration with leaked set photos, prompting a strict no-phone policy.

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is set to portray Lord Hanuman in this Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starrer. Speculations abound regarding Bobby Deol’s potential role as Kumbhakaran, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Vijay Sethupathi as Vibhishan, although official confirmation is pending.

Recently, a viral video showcased Ranbir’s rigorous physical regimen for the film, underscoring the cast’s dedication. While none of the actors have addressed the project publicly, Ramayana is slated for a Diwali 2025 theatrical release.
