It was earlier informed that Diljit Dosanjh will be reuniting with filmmaker Shaad Ali after the enormous success of the sports biographical drama, Soorma. The latest development around the upcoming comedy-drama has been that the makers have finalised the lead actress in Yami Gautam who will be sharing screen space with Dosanjh for the first time.

As per the reports, the Shaad Ali directorial will revolve around a Punjabi couple and the unnatural twist in their relationship when the male partner gets pregnant. While the movie is touted to be a madcap family entertainer, the makers were on a lookout for an actress who can be paired with Diljit Dosanjh in the hilarious and quirky comedy. The source claims that Yami Gautam has given her nod for the project and signed the dotted line.

While both Yami and Diljit are known to be experimenting with their choices of scripts, Diljit’s last outing in the Bollywood, Good Newwz, also revolved around an unexpected twist in couple’s relationships with the core theme of pregnancy. On the other hand, Yami Gautam also has her shares of extraordinary scripts like Vicky Donor and Bala. The Shaad Ali directorial is expected to go on the floors in the month of October.
