The\u00a0Baahubali<\/em> movie franchise is the most successful franchise of the country and when Netflix announced a prequel series, fans were elated with joy. Though the series was wrapped up last year, fans of\u00a0Baahubali<\/em> will have to wait longer to experience the saga as the first series of nine episodes has been scrapped by Netflix.<\/p>\n

Netflix announced\u00a0Baahubali: Before The Beginning<\/em> series in 2018 which was expected to show the journey of Sivagami from a fearless girl to unparalleled queen. The series was helmed by Deva Katta and Praveen Sataru with SS Rajamouli and Arka Media Works from the original masterpiece at supervision. The series when presented to Netflix, the streaming giant reportedly didn’t find it appealing enough to be compared with the cinematic version. Not justifying the creative and expensive vision of Netflix, the series was reportedly scrapped and is to be worked upon from the scratch with a new team.<\/p>\n

“Baahubali is one of India\u2019s most beloved stories. To bring this universe to life in the scale and manner it deserves, we\u2019re reenvisioning the story along with our amazing partners. Together we want to make sure we do justice to the expansive vision, depth of storytelling, and complex characters,” said Netflix India team.<\/p>\n

As per a report published in a tabloid, the new team will be led by filmmaker Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy with SS Rajamouli at supervision. The original cast, which included Mrunal Thakur, Anoop Soni, and Rahul Bose, is also being worked upon to fit the new vision. The series is expected to go on the floors in the mid-2021.<\/p>\n
