However, the actor recently faced troubles when the Income Tax department raided his residence for three days in a row and accused him of tax evasion.<\/p>\n<p>The tax department has recently issued a statement that Sonu Sood has evaded over 20 crores INR in taxes and the actor took to his social media handle to share his side of the story. Sonu shared a post on his Instagram early this morning (Monday) to share that he has pledged to help the people of the country. &#8220;Every rupee in my foundation is awaiting its turn to save a precious life and reach the needy,&#8221; his post reads. Meanwhile, he also opened up on the raids conducted at his residence in a media interview.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to NDTV, Sonu Sood opened up on the ongoing controversy on his name and said that he is a law-abiding citizen of the country. &#8220;Whatever documents, details they asked for, we gave. Whatever questions they asked, I answered. I did my part, they did theirs. We answered every one of them with documents. That&#8217;s my duty. We are still providing documents\u2026it is part of the process,&#8221; he said while insisting that officials were happy with the documentation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I asked them have you ever seen such kind of documentation, details, paperwork? They said no.
