Filmmaker Karan Johar’s popular chat show, Koffee With Karan, is synonymous to ‘Controversies’ and churns rumours mills high with each episode of its every season. Started in the year 2004, Karan Johar has been the host to 6 superhit seasons and sitting on the couch of the chat show is a dream to many. However, in the fifth season of the celebrity-based chat show, Karan Johar faced the wrath of the Greek God of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan, when he didn’t approve of inviting Yami Gautam.
In the year 2017, Karan Johar invited a number of notable celebrities to be his guest on the chat show and he was keen on getting Hrithik Roshan to be a part of the fifth season of his show. However, things didn’t go well between the two when Roshan refused to come to the show without his co-star of movie Kaabil, Yami Gautam. If reports are to be believed, Karan Johar invited Hrithik Roshan as his guest at Koffee With Karan to promote his then-upcoming movie, Kaabil. The actor proposed to grace the couch with Yami Gautam which didn’t go with the host, Karan Johar.
Karan Johar reportedly felt that the actress was not a good fit to be on his sets and when Hrithik refused to make an appearance without her, he dropped the idea of getting him on the show at the first place. Eventually, Hrithik Roshan didn’t feature in the fifth season of Koffee With Karan despite creating hype around it and got named in another controversy associated with the chat show.
On the other hand, Kaabil hit the right chores and did great business at the box office giving Yami Gautam her the due recognition. Yami went on to be a part of another blockbuster movie, Uri: The Surgical Strike, while Hrithik received critical-acclamation for his performance in Siddharth Anand’s War.
