The Sunday brought grief and shock to the entire entertainment industry as one of the most talented self-made actors of the industry, Sushant Singh Rajput, tragically ended his life. The actor killed himself by hanging at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, leaving behind an unfillable void and an ocean of sorrow for his fans. While the untimely demise of Rajput was shocking and hard to believe, it brought the dark side of the glamour industry on the front.
Soon after the news broke out, netizens started bashing Karan Johar for promoting nepotism in the industry and letting talented outsiders suffer in solitary. While Karan Johar wrote a heartfelt note remembering Sushant Singh Rajput and blamed himself for not being in touch with him, rumours have it that some industry groups led the actor to kill himself which was also hinted by actor Shekhar Kapur. “I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish I was around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours,” Kapur wrote in his tweet.
In the last week of February, self-acclaimed critic, Kamaal R. Khan, claimed that major production houses in Bollywood had banned Sushant Singh Rajput in the industry and he wouldn’t be allowed to work in movies. “According to our sources #Dharma #SajidNadiadwala #YRF #TSeries #SalmanKhan #DineshVijan #Balaji have banned #sushantsinghRajput! So now he can do web series or TV serials only. Superb,” KRK wrote in one of his tweets about Sushant Singh Rajput.

Earlier, there were rife rumours of a fallout between Aditya Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput post shelving a long assured project, Paani, to be helmed by Shekhar Kapur. Rajput was in a three-movie contract with the Yash Raj Films and he was forced to step out of big banner movies which later fell in Ranveer Singh’s kitty. During his clash with YRF, Karan Johar allegedly jumped in and supported Aditya Chopra which might have left Rajput alienated in the industry.
Sushant Singh Rajput had multiple times hinted that he was not considered a part of the industry by certain clans since he started his career from the television. In one of his interview, he said that he was never invited to parties hosted by Bollywood’s top leagues. However, the truth to these fan-made theories will never be found out as we lost one fine gem of Bollywood in the tug of war.
