The entertainment industry received another blow as we lost one of the most talented music director, Wajid Khan. Son of Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan and the member of the renowned musical duo, Sajid-Wajid, was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai where he took his last breath. Wajid was earlier informed to be on the ventilator but the sad news of his demise shattered the entire entertainment industry as well as fans of his art.

Confirming the news, renowned entertainment journalist, Faridoon Shahryar, took to his social media handle as he wrote, “Sad News: Noted singer Sonu Nigam just confirmed to me that music composer Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid passed away a short while back. He was suffering from Covid 19 (sic).” Wajid Khan was reported to be suffering from kidney ailment for the past few years and as per the sources, he contracted Coronavirus which led to his unfortunate demise.

Wajid Khan was last seen at the music launch of Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3 and he was keeping a low profile ever since then as he was trying to cope up with his ailments. The musical duo of Sajid-Wajid was known to be Salman Khan’s favourite as they have worked with the superstar in a number of his movies including, Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Sajid-Wajid recently composed Bhai Bhai and Pyaar Karona for Salman Khan’s YouTube channel.

Broken with the heart-breaking news, renowned music composer, Salim Merchant, and filmmaker, Milap Zaveri, were the first of many who expressed their grief in their tweets and prayed for Wajid Khan to find peace.

The lockdown is turning into a nightmare for the Bollywood industry as we have lost three great legends of their arts, Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, and Wajid Khan. May they rest in peace!
