Indian film actor and comedian, Vivek, best known for his work in the Tamil entertainment industry has been hospitalized in a Chennai hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest. The actor complaint of chest pain and was rushed to a private hospital on April 16. The condition of the actor is said to be critical at the moment and being monitored by a team of doctors.

According to sources, Vivek collapsed at his residence in Chennai and his family, wife and daughter, rushed him to the hospital. The sources at the time of his admission reported that he had a weak pulse with heart blocks and the doctor is currently deciding the further course of treatment in this emergency situation. Vivek is currently placed on the ECMO machine which pumps and oxygenates blood outside the body.

The 59-year-old actor also received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on 15th April and urged those eligible to take the vaccine in the fight to contain the spread of Coronavirus. The doctors have refuted social media claims of a link between the COVID-19 vaccine and heart attack.
