As the premiere of Fast X approaches, Vin Diesel is sharing his dream casting for the final Fast XI villain. He describes the character as being the antithesis of Dom and promoting AI and driverless cars, which goes against the Toretto mentality. Diesel’s dream castmate for this role is Robert Downey Jr.
With a star-studded cast, including Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, and Jason Momoa, it’s no surprise that Diesel is aiming for even more star power in the final two-part instalment of the franchise. Co-star Michelle Rodriguez has her own ideal future Fast and Furious partner, Matt Damon. Rodriguez says, “Matt Damon, would you be in a ‘Fast and Furious’ movie? C’mon, we got four Oscar winners, man. And you’re an Oscar winner!”
Fast X is the first half of the franchise finale, featuring the return of mainstays Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, and more, as well as newcomers Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, and Cardi B. The film sees Dom and his crew seeking help in their fight against Cipher, who has recruited a mysterious new adversary.
The official synopsis for Fast X promises a tense race to the finish, and the trailer has teased the same. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier, with franchise director Justin Lin having departed the production. Meadow Walker, the daughter of late Fast and Furious star Paul Walker, commented on the trailer, saying “I love you. My family forever and always.”
