Indian megastar Vijay enjoys a massive fan-following and his last release, Master, became the first film to pull a mass audience to the theatres after years-long Covid-19 restrictions. The trailer of his next, Beast, has already created a buzz and the fans have eagerly been waiting for its release. However, his fans in Kuwait will not be able to witness the action-packed drama as Kuwait officials have banned the movie from releasing in the country.
A couple days ago, it was revealed that the Vijay starrer will not be released in Kuwait and multiple theories were knitted to support the reason behind the unexpected ban. Now, as per our sources, the real reason for not screening the movie in Kuwait is the ‘anti-Pakistan’ elements in the movie. The protagonist of the movie, Veera, gets into a conflict with a high official of Pakistan and the censor board of Kuwait is not happy with the portrayal. The makers of the movie cannot get rid of the section as it plays a key role in the plot of the movie and hence, the Ministry of Information in the middle eastern country has decided to ban the release.
While the movie will not be minting coins in Kuwait, the film has been cleared from the censor board in UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and other middle eastern countries. The movie will also be having a big scale release in North America, Europe, and Australia. The multi-lingual release of the movie will be going head-on with the much-awaited sequel to KGF and Shahid Kapoor’s sports drama, Jersey.
Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Beast features Vijay in the lead alongside Pooja Hegde, Shine Tom Chacko, Selvaraghavan, and Yogi Babu among others in key roles. The movie is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 13.
