Earlier this week, renowned actor Vijay Raaz was arrested by the Gondia Police for allegedly molesting a female colleague on the sets of Vidya Balan starrer Sherni. While the actor was granted bail on the same day, it turned out to be his exit from the project owing to the molestation charges levied against him.

As per an eyewitness who saw the entire alleged incident, Vijay Raaz yanked the arm of a female crew member in order to call her attention in front of 30 other crew members. This led to a heated argument between the two and filmmaker Amit Masurkar along with the producers of the movie had to step in. The team encouraged the female crew member to file an official complaint with the production studio, Abundantia Entertainment. However, the eyewitness claims that Vijay’s actions were not to molest her. Reportedly, Vijay Raaz had also apologized after realizing his mistake.

Post the incident and the arrest, the makers of the movie set up an Internal Complaints Committee to probe the matter at their level and the production head informed the team that the actor wouldn’t be resuming work in the project. The decision was taken in consideration to the zero-tolerance policy of the Abundantia Entertainment for workplace harassment.
