Vijay Deverakonda has earned a massive fan following in the Bollywood despite not being a part of a Hindi-language movie so far. The actor played the protagonist in Arjun Reddy which was remade for the Hindi audience with the title Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead. Despite the massive backlash, the movie turned out to be a blockbuster and not just Shahid Kapoor reclaimed his superstar status, Vijay Deverakonda became a promising bankable actor for the Hindi producers.
Last year, filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor announced a collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Bhushan Kumar for a film based on the 2019’s Balakot Air Strike. While there had been no developments in the movie until now, the latest reports suggest that the makers have zeroed down to Vijay Deverakonda to play the protagonist in the movie which will also mark his Bollywood debut.
While the plot of the movie is kept under wraps, it is being informed that the movie will revolve around Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman who was kept captive in Pakistan for 60 hours which is to be essayed by Deverakonda. The movie will trace multiple events including the Pulwana attack followed by India’s counter air strike, Abhinandan’s captivity in Pakistan and his release.
As per the sources, the Arjun Reddy actor has given his verbal nod to the project but nothing is materialized so far due to the ongoing pandemic scenario. Meanwhile Vijay will be seen in his upcoming action drama, Fighter, which will be dubbed in Hindi language as well.
