Actor Vijay Deverakonda will be making his Bollywood debut under Karan Johar’s production banner and his fans have been eagerly waiting to see in a fresh avatar of a kickboxer. Titled Liger, the movie went on the floors early this year but the production was halted after restrictions were imposed owning to the Coronavirus pandemic. Months after, the makers have resumed the filming of the sports drama and the actor took to his social media handle to share a picture.
Featuring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead, Liger depicts the journey of a kickboxer who suffers from a speech impediment of stuttering. Sharing a picture from the sets of the movie, the actor announced resuming production and wrote, “BLOOD. SWEAT. VIOLENCE. #LIGER Shoot Resumes (sic).”

In the shared picture, Vijay can be seen sitting inside a boxing cage in a completely new avatar. The actor has undergone an intense transformation to get into the shoes of a multi martial artist and his fans are excitedly waiting to see him in action. Along with Vijay, Ananya Panday will play the female lead along with Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Ali, Makarand Deshpande, Getup Srinu, Abdul Quadir Amin, and several others in key roles.
Helmed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger will mark the Bollywood debut of Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya’s debut in the South Indian film industry. The movie was earlier scheduled for a release in September but has been pushed to early next year.
