Vidyut Jammwal, recognized for consistently securing 4-5 crore openings before the pandemic, temporarily shifted his focus to OTT platforms during the pandemic. Notably, his venture Khuda Haafiz: Chapter One garnered commendable success in the digital space. However, upon returning to theatres with Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 and IB 71, Jammwal experienced a noticeable absence of the robust openings characteristic of his pre-pandemic films.
Breaking this streak, Crackk, the latest release featuring Vidyut Jammwal, has marked a significant achievement by emerging as the third-highest opener in his career. While it surpasses the opening figures of Commando, it falls behind Commando 2 and Commando 3 in the list of his top openings.
Directed by Aditya Datt, Crackk aims to compete with films above it in terms of first-week and first-weekend numbers. Commando 3 holds the record for Jammwal’s most substantial weekend at 18.33 crore, closely followed by Commando 2 at 15.74 crore.
While the opening day on Friday received a boost due to Cinema Lovers Day, the regular ticket rates are now in effect. Observing the film’s performance today will offer a more precise insight into the trajectory of its weekend collections.
