This year seems to be Bollywood’s new heartthrob Vicky Kaushal’s golden year with back to back hit releases-Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi’, Raj Kumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’, Netflix’s ‘Lust Stories’ and recently released Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziyan’.

The actor is set to begin the coming year with  Ronnie Screwvala’s film ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ under his RSVP banner. The teaser of which was released earlier today. Based on true events, the movie chronicles around the deadly attack on Indian soldiers in Uri Base Camp in Kashmir by terrorists across the border in 2016 which killed 19 soldiers and left many others severely injured.

India has often been blamed for never retaliating back and trying to sort things in a verbal manner, but this inhumane and brutal attack broke the tolerance threshold of the Indian Army. On 29th September 2016, eleven days after the attack by the terrorists, Indian Army special forces launched Surgical strikes across terrorist launch pads in Line of Control who were planning to attack inside Jammu and Kashmir and several other cities in India.

The ‘Surgical Strikes’ was a  statement made to the enemies that India wont keep quiet, not anymore.  Vicky Kaushal who plays the officer leading the ‘Surgical Strike’ team, brings in the raw emotions  of a soldier come alive in the teaser.

The movie written and directed by Aditya Dhar is for sure to bring back the emotions, rage, memories of every time such an incident happens and evoke the patriot within. The teaser itself has made such a huge impact, we can’t wait for the trailer to be released soon. Its a tribute to the Indian Army soldiers who willingly safeguard and sacrifice their lives to protect their country and its people.

Starring along with Vicky in the movie are Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Manasi Parekh in pivotal roles. The movie is set to release on 11th January 2019.
