Varun Dhawan’s last two outings received cold responses at the box office and the actor is working hard to make a comeback with his upcoming movies. While the actor is gearing up for the remake of the classic comedy, Coolie No 1, alongside Sara Ali Khan, the actor was to star alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in the comedy thriller, Mr. Lele.
A while ago, the actor unveiled the first look poster of the speculated movie which went viral over the internet. However, due to scheduling conflicts between the lead actors, the movie has reportedly hit the backburner. As per the reports, Varun Dhawan will kick-start working on the biopic of Arun Khetrapal after the completion of Coolie No 1, while Janhvi Kapoor will be busy with the promotions of her next, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.
Taking to the social media, filmmaker Shashank Khaitan announced postponing the project as he wrote, “Hi guys! Here is an update on Mr. Lele. Karan, Varun and I have mutually decided to postpone the shooting of the film. It’s a script we all love and am sure will revisit soon. But, scheduling the film was turning out to be very tough, as the film has solid ensemble cast and the dates were just not falling into place.”

While the director clearly mentioned that he is currently not collaborating with Varun Dhawan anytime soon for Mr Lele, he also hinted that the two might soon work on some other project as well. Varun and Shashank were to reunite for Rannbhoomi as well but the movie was put on hold as well. “I am very sure Varun and I will collaborate soon, either on Mr. Lele itself or on something new, as collaborating with him has always been the most joyful and fulfilling experience in my life. Have a great day guys. Lots of love,” Shashank added.
