The Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer military action movie URI: The Surgical Strike released in theatres on the 11th of January 2019 and became an instant hit at the box office. The movie attracted the masses for its patriotical theme and did great critically and commercially. While the movie has already made its way to the television screens, the makers have decided to re-release the movie in theatres.

Based on the true events of the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian military against the terrorists in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, the movie revolves around the bravery of the Indian forces. Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the movie stars Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina, and Kirti Kulhari in the prominent characters. The movie will re-release at theatres on the Kargil Vijay Diwas, i.e. 26 July.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala confirmed the news and said that he is honoured to be a part of this initiative wherein URI: The Surgical Strike will be showcased on the Kargil Vijay Diwas. The movie will be re-released across 500 theatres.
