With many television soaps and reality shows under his wing, Karanvir Bohra remains to be a household name. The actor, who has been a part of shows like Lock Upp and Bigg Boss, has now been caught up in a legal scandal. Reports suggest that a case has been registered against the actor for duping a 40-year-old woman of Rs. 1.99 crores.
The case has been registered at the Oshiwara police station by the woman. The tweet by news agency, ANI, read, “Maharashtra | Case registered against 6 people including actor Manoj Bohra alias Karanvir Bohra for allegedly cheating a 40-year-old woman of Rs 1.99 crores after promising to return it at 2.5% interest; woman claimed that only an amount of over Rs 1cr was returned: Oshiwara PS.”
While Oshiwara police officials did confirm this news to ANI, they also added that they have kicked off their investigation. They also asserted that they will be recording the statements of Karanvir and his wife Teejay related to this case, soon.
For the unversed, Karanvir Bohra, who was last seen in the reality show Lock Upp had himself revealed to be in huge debts. In the show, he revealed that there are a few cases registered against him as he has been unable to clear off 3-4 debts. He revealed that his career hasn’t been doing well for the past seven years.
