The Tunisha Sharma case, which has received significant attention over the past month, involves actor Sheezan Khan, the victim’s ex-boyfriend and co-actor, who has been facing multiple allegations. Recently, the court in Vasai denied bail to Khan, who was in judicial custody in connection with the accusations of abetment to suicide. However, Khan’s defence lawyers have stated that they will appeal the decision in the High Court.
According to reports, Additional Sessions Judge R D Deshpande denied bail to 28-year-old actor Sheezan Khan, stating that the end of their relationship was an acknowledged fact. The judge reportedly informed the defence counsels that Tunisha Sharma had a panic attack following the breakup and the evidence suggests that Khan was the last person to have seen Tunisha before her suicide. Based on these facts, the judge denied the bail request.
The defence attorneys have reportedly stated that they will present evidence in the High Court of a phone call made by Tunisha Sharma to her mother and a conversation with a friend on Tinder 15 minutes before her death. They have also suggested that new information has come to light, and have claimed that they have been unable to locate Tunisha’s laptop.
Advocate Tarun Sharma, who is representing Tunisha Sharma’s family, has praised the police for conducting a thorough investigation and said that the investigative agency has produced significant evidence and witness statements that contributed to the rejection of the bail plea. He also stated that they will be opposing any efforts to grant relief to the accused, Sheezan Khan.
It is worth noting that Tunisha Sharma and Sheezan Khan had been dating for several months before they broke up for unknown reasons. They were also playing the roles of onscreen lovers in the fantasy show Alibaba Dastaan-E-Kabul. After their separation, Sharma committed suicide by hanging herself in her vanity van on the set of the show on December 24.
