The third instalment of the action-thriller franchise, Race, became one of the most controversial movies because of its performance at the box office. Salman Khan starrer Race 3 received entirely negative reviews from the critics and audience, alike. However, the movie went on to claim the hit status merely because of Salman Khan.

While the Salman Khan couldn’t digest the poor reviews given to the movie, Salman Khan wasn’t the first choice for the movie. According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan was considered to play the part in the third instalment of the series followed by Hrithik Roshan before it came down to Salman Khan, who is also the producer of the movie.

Producer Salman Khan decided to play the character of Sikander in the movie and gave chance to many of his friends in the industry. With Race 3, Bobby Deol revived his career and received positive reviews for his performance. Other additions in the franchise were Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem, while Anil Kapoor was seen in a prominent character.

With a budget of 150-180 crore INR, the Remo D’Souza directorial went on to collect 303 crore INR, approximately, at the box office.
