Simply known as the ‘King Khan’ of the Bollywood industry, the stardom of Shah Rukh Khan is not bounded by the nation’s border. Shah Rukh Khan is one of the greatest actors that Indian film industry has ever produced and globally renowned for his art. However, despite knowing the potential of the story, Khan rejected a movie which went on to win accolades at several international award nights.
Shah Rukh Khan was narrated the script of Oscar-winning drama, Slumdog Millionaire, and he was offered the role of a reality show host in the movie which was later played by Anil Kapoor. While the character along with the movie became iconic with the immense box office success and global recognition, Shah Rukh Khan gave it a pass despite knowing its potential. In a public interview, the Dilwale actor admitted that he was approached to play the part but gave a befitting reason to reject the same.
King Khan said that the character he was supposed to play was cunning and mean. “I was very keen that the film be made, because I think that it’s a very interesting topic but I didn’t do it because the host is a little bit of a cheat, and he was a little mean,” Khan revealed. He further mentioned that he had done some seasons of the popular quiz-based reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, and since the movie has a similar premise, playing a cheat host onscreen would be inappropriate. “It was a great film,” he added.
While Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t made an official announcement for his next, he will be seen playing a significant cameo in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer trilogy, Brahmashtra, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Amitabh Bachchan in prominent characters.
