Redo Times brought the third edition of Feronia Fashion Night in association with Avantika University, Ujjain and IT by It professionals, Jaipur. The fashion show was held on 1st September 2019 at The Grand Bhagwati Palace, Indore. Feronia Fashion Night is an initiative to raise awareness on the very sensitive topic of gender equality and LBTQ inclusiveness. It is a first of its kind event that showcases Androgynous Fashion – A form of fashion that focuses on breaking the archaic gender stereotype.

This is the only event in India that features all the models from the LGBTQ community providing the models a platform to showcase their talents and get further opportunities. The models were presented with the gift hampers from Repechage India, a premium global skincare brand and provided makeup services by ShikhaHolkar from Shades Salon Indore, the top hair and make – up studio in Madhya Pradesh.

The show was lit up with the quirky and awe-inspiring collection of Diana Linda. An Italian designer with showrooms across Italy, France, Belgium and India, Diana is one of the most insightful voices of alternate fashion specializing in sustainability and using approaches of Bohemian, Peace & Love, Vintage taste & Deconstruction in her collections. She presented a collection titled “I am an activist” where Sustainability meets gender.

Her collection of upcycled formal menswear blazers were essentially breaking gender boundaries as they can be worn by all three genders with equal aplomb. The jackets were all totally upcycled from donated suits through WhatsApp groups. Diana not only designed the garments for her collection, but the entire ensemble including uber-stylish sunglasses and quirk struck bags were also designed by Diana herself. She made an extremely important statement showing us a constructive way to use social media!
