After almost two years of a self-imposed sabbatical, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie, Chhapaak, which is a Meghna Gulzar directorial. While the actress is also debuting as a producer for the biographical drama of an acid attack survivor, her fans have been eagerly waiting for the first trailer of the movie.
Building hype for the sensitive plot, director Meghna Gulzar recently informed that the first trailer of the movie will be released on the World Human Rights Day, i.e. 10th day of December. While the news already had the weight to it, producer and actor, Deepika Padukone, took to her social media handle to announce the release date of the trailer of Chhapaak.
Deepika Padukone shared a small clip with the trailer release date of her upcoming movie on her Instagram account and wrote, “A moment is all it took… Trailer out tomorrow. Keep watching this space… #Chhapaak”. The clip had a black background with acid splashing into the screen and revealing the release date of the trailer, which is scheduled to be released tomorrow.
Earlier, Meghna Gulzar praised Deepika Padukone for taking the character to the next level with her body language, gestures and general energy. The director also mentioned that we will get to see a different side of the actress in the movie which is based on the real-life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. Starring Deepika Padukone in the lead, Chhapaak is slated to release on the 10th of January, 2020.
