Tiger Shroff and Janhvi Kapoor are set to share the screen in the highly-anticipated Indian adaptation of the Hollywood classic, Rambo, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film has been in development for six years, with Tiger Shroff confirmed as the lead back in 2017. However, it faced multiple delays before finally gaining momentum.

Janhvi Kapoor will play the female lead in the Rambo adaptation, marking her first on-screen collaboration with Tiger. The character details are being kept under wraps, but she will play a pivotal role in the storyline. Both actors, who have known each other for years, are thrilled about this professional collaboration. They were initially slated to work together on other projects, including Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Jagan Shakti’s untitled action thriller, but those plans fell through due to scheduling conflicts.

The Rambo remake is scheduled to start filming in January 2024, primarily in Europe, on an unprecedented scale. The film’s producer, Siddharth Anand, and director, Rohit Dhawan, aim to create a character that embodies a true Indian action hero. Tiger will undergo intensive training under the guidance of international experts, focusing on weaponry and guerrilla warfare. His role involves portraying the last surviving member of an elite covert unit of the Indian Armed Forces who returns home to find a war raging on his own soil.

The creative team is devoted to delivering a spectacular adaptation of Rambo within an Indian context, capturing Sylvester Stallone’s essence while differentiating Tiger’s character from John J. Rambo. The film is set to provide high-quality action sequences and is targeting a cinematic release in 2025.

Tiger and Janhvi will begin shooting for the Siddharth Anand production once they complete their ongoing commitments. Tiger Shroff recently finished filming for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ganapath Part 1 and will soon resume work on Jagan Shakti’s action thriller alongside Sara Ali Khan. Janhvi Kapoor has wrapped up Dharma Productions’ Mr. & Mrs. Mahi and Junglee Pictures’ espionage thriller, Ulajh, with Jr. NTR’s Devara still pending in her schedule.
