The Indian film industry woke up to tragic news as three assistant directors met with a fatal accident on the sets of Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2. As per the early reports, three men died in the unfortunate incident with nine crew members suffered injuries when a crane crashed on the movie set.

The three men recognized as assistant directors to Shankar were inside the cage-like structure on a crane when it broke and came down crashing on the crew. While the three men lost their lives, nine other crew members were injured in the incident. The accident happened at EVP Film City near Chennai while the actor, Kamal Haasan, was shooting on another set. It is yet to confirm whether director Shankar was present at the scene or not.

Taking to his social media handle, Kamal Haasan expressed his grievances and wrote, “The accident is cruel. I lost three colleagues. More than my pain, the grief of their families would be immense. I share their sorrow. My deep condolences to them.”

Kamal Haasan is currently shooting for the movie, Indian 2, which is a sequel to his movie, Indian, and is being made on a large scale. Helmed by S. Shankar, the movie stars Kamal Haasan and Rakul Preet Singh as the lead characters.
