Akshay Kumar’s film “Bachchhan Paandey” and Anupam Kher’s “The Kashmir Files” have had a tough competition.
Akshay Kumar’s film Bachchhan Paandey had released in theatres a week after the release of The Kashmir Files. The massive success of The Kashmir Files and the mixed reviews of Bachchhan Paandey did not help Akshay’s film to perform well at the box office. Recently, at an event which was attended by both Akshay Kumar and Vivek Agnihotri, the former praised the film and spoke about how its performance left everyone surprised.

Speaking to the audience at the event in Vivek’s presence, Akshay said, “By making The Kashmir Files, Vivek Agnihotri has brought a heart-wrenching truth of our country to the forefront. The Kashmir Files came as a wave that shook all of us. However, it is a different matter that even my film Bachchhan Paandey got drowned in this wave.”
Vivek Agnihotri shared the clip on his Twitter handle and thanked Akshay Kumar for his kind words for the film.
Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey directed by Farhad Samji also stars Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez. The commercial entertainer failed to attract the audience largely owing to the massive success of The Kashmir Files, a film that has earned Rs. 200 crores in just 2 weeks. The Kashmir Files narrates the story of the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, among others. The film is being praised by several artists and even high-profile politicians of the country and has been made tax-free in several states.
