Vicky Kaushal is on a roll after the success of his last release, URI: The Surgical Strike, and has already signed a number of movies. While filmmaker Ronnie Screwvala had earlier announced a collaboration with Vicky Kaushal for a modern take on the mythological story, The Immortal Ashwatthama, the production of the movie has been on a halt due to the pandemic.
It was earlier learnt that Vicky Kaushal had started his training to play his character based on the immortal King Ashwatthama from the Mahabharata mythology. The actor has been working on his physique as well as learning new forms of action, the latest reports suggest that the movie is expected to start filming in September.
According to a source close to the development of the movie, the makers have chalked a start to finish five-month shooting schedule starting from September. According to the report, the shooting will be done in India, Iceland and UAE over five months starting with India. The film, touted to be one of the costliest movies of Bollywood, is relying heavily on VFX work and therefore, the makers plan to finish the filming as soon as possible to start the post-production.
To be helmed by Aditya Dhar, The Immortal Ashwatthama features Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan in the key roles while the rest of the crew is yet to be announced. The movie is currently scheduled for a release in 2023.
