Thalapathy Vijay’s latest release, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), continues its impressive run at the Indian box office, raking in an estimated Rs. 30 crore on its second day (Friday). The film maintained strong momentum, particularly in Tamil Nadu, with Karnataka also performing well. This brings the two-day total to approximately Rs. 83 crore, setting the stage for a four-day extended weekend that could surpass Rs. 150 crore.

In Tamil Nadu, GOAT collected around Rs. 21 crore on Friday, representing just a 30% dip from its massive opening day. This makes it the second-highest day-two collection on a non-holiday in the state’s history, trailing only behind Leo, which earned Rs. 23.5 crores last year. No other film in Tamil Nadu has achieved Rs. 20 crore or even Rs. 15 crore on a non-holiday second day, with Jailer being the third closest at Rs. 14.5 crore. Remarkably, GOAT‘s second-day earnings are comparable to the opening-day collections of other major Tamil hits like Jailer, Ponniyin Selvan, and Vikram.

Karnataka showed a solid hold as well, with approximately Rs. 3 crore collected on Friday, and the state is expected to see growth over the weekend. The Hindi-dubbed version of GOAT also maintained stability, seeing only a modest 15% drop in collections. However, Kerala reported a significant 70% decline, indicating weaker audience interest and struggles for the film in that region. The performance in the Telugu states was weak from the start and remained so on day two.

While the film is struggling to gain traction outside Tamil Nadu, particularly in Kerala and the Telugu regions, the Hindi version might continue to perform into September. Despite challenges in other territories, GOAT‘s exceptional performance in Tamil Nadu is set to carry it forward.
