The Fantastic Four have long been a defining part of Marvel Comics, with their origins dating back to 1961 when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the superhero team. Now, after years of anticipation, the iconic group—Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing—is finally making its way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
With a 2025 release date, the film is set to be a major milestone in the MCU, and excitement has only intensified with the release of its teaser trailer. Within just 24 hours, the trailer amassed a staggering 202 million views across all platforms, making it the most-watched trailer for a non-sequel Marvel film. According to Deadline, this record-breaking feat places it just behind Deadpool & Wolverine (365 million views) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (355 million views), both of which had the advantage of being highly anticipated sequels.
Unlike previous Fantastic Four adaptations, this film presents a fresh take on the beloved characters. The star-studded cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing). Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is slated to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
The record-breaking trailer performance highlights just how eager fans are to see the Fantastic Four finally join the MCU, setting the stage for what could be one of Marvel’s most significant films yet.
