The Current War trailer starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Shannon, and Nicholas Hoult in the lead roles released today and it brings the greatest current war in the history to life on the big screen. The trailer takes us to the 19th century when two of the biggest inventors Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla were going against each other to get on the top.

Best known for playing Doctor Strange and Sherlock Holmes, Benedict Cumberbatch is playing the character of Thomas Edison and Nicholas Hoult is portraying the character of Nikola Tesla while Michael Shannon will be seen as George Westinghouse in the movie. The star cast also includes Tom Holland, Katherine Waterson, Simon Manyonda, and Tuppence Middleton in pivotal characters.

The Current War trailer hits the right chords with the factual events happened in the history which brought Thomas and Nikola against each other. The trailer also depicts the events where experiments went against safety and civilians were at the risk of getting electrocuted, which suggests that we might get to see the dirty side of the current war.

Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, the movie was earlier produced by The Weinstein Company and was scheduled for a release on 24 November 2017. However, after sexual harassment allegations against the producer, the movie was shelved and the rights were transferred to 101 Studios through the Lantern Entertainment.

The movie is currently scheduled for a release on 4th of October, 2019, and we are looking forward to a great experience owing to the award-winning star cast.
