It was earlier informed that Sidharth Malhotra and Mrunal Thakur have been signed for the Hindi remake of blockbuster thriller Thadam and the latest report suggests that the makers have finalized a title for the remake. Producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani had joined hands for blockbuster Hindi remake Kabir Singh and the duo announced collaboration for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Thadam Hindi remake.
While the cast and crew for the Hindi remake were finalized long ago, the project was untitled until now. As per the sources close to the development of the movie, the makers are going to call the highly-anticipated project Gumrah. The title suits the narrative of the movie as the plot deals with a number of twists and turns throughout the screenplay. The movie was supposed to go on the floors by the mid-2020 but due to the ongoing pandemic, it was pushed further. If everything goes as expected, the movie is likely to hit the theatres by the end of next year.
While Gumrah is a Hindi remake of the Tamil-language action thriller, the plot has been retouched a little to adapt the story for the pan-India audience. Sidharth Malhotra will be playing a double character in the movie while Mrunal Thakur will be essaying the character of a cop. Helmed by Vardhan Ketkar, the movie is expected to go on the floors in January 2021.
