Sidharth Malhotra has been having a hard-luck at the box office since the last few couple years and the actor is currently preparing for his next, Shershaah, which stars Kiara Advani in the female lead. Recently, it was revealed that Ek Villain actor will also be a part of the Hindi remake of Tamil actioner, Thadam.
A source close to the development of the movie has confirmed that the makers have locked on to the female lead for the highly-anticipated Hindi remake and she is none other than Mrunal Thakur, who is currently shooting for another Hindi remake, Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead. Mrunal will be essaying the character of a cop which was originally portrayed by Divya Pradeep in the Arjun Vijay starrer.
The action-thriller, Thadam, was a critical and commercial success in the Tamil entertainment industry and we are expecting nothing less from its official Hindi remake. The movie, which is slated to go on the floors in the month of May, will be shot at real locations in Delhi. A source close to the remake revealed that Sidharth will undergo look tests in April as he will be sporting two looks in the film.
The remake will mark the directorial debut of Vardhan Ketkar and will be bankrolled by Murad Khetani and Bhushan Kumar. If everything goes as planned, the movie is expected to hit the silver screen next year.
