Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput left for his heavenly abode last year amid unforeseen circumstances which are still being investigated upon. However, the actor was working on a number of upcoming projects which got halted indefinitely after his unfortunate demise. One of the actor’s dream projects was Chanda Mama Door Ke and the director is reviving it as a tribute to the late actor.

To be helmed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, Chanda Mama Door Ke was announced in 2017 and many actors were speculated to play the lead. The project was offered to Sushant Singh Rajput as well and, reportedly, he got himself into a training program at NASA to get into the shoes of an astronaut. However, he had to opt-out of the movie owing to his dates unavailability and the project was halted. Sushant Singh Rajput had also mentioned that it was his dream to work in a space drama and had plans to make one of his own.

After months of his untimely demise, filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan has confirmed that his directorial is not shelved but will be revived as a tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput. Currently, he is revisiting the script of the movie as he will be in need to replace Sushant with a new cast. The director also affirmed that Chanda Mama Door Ke will not be a web-series and will be released on the big screens only.
