Veteran actress Surekha Sikri recently suffered a brain stroke and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Mumbai. While the greetings for a speedy recovery came pouring from the film and television fraternity, there were widespread reports that the actress and her family had approached acquaintances in the industry for financial help. Her longtime manager has come forward to clarify the same and put the rumours to rest.

Vivek Sidhwani, longtime manager of Surekha Sikri, interacted with a media daily and clarified that the actress or her family is not in need of financial assistance at the moment. “That was incorrectly put out in the press. Surekhaji has her own finances and the family, including her son, is by her side. There is no need for financial assistance for now,” he said. Vivek further added that many of her film acquaintances came forward to help her family after coming across the rumours. “Many of her well-wishers, colleagues and filmmakers were kind enough to offer financial assistance. They have been informed that the family is taking care of everything and giving her the best possible treatment,” the manager added.

While the actress was admitted after suffering a brain stroke, she has also been diagnosed with an accumulation of fluid in her lungs as per the sources. Many of her former co-actors from the film and television industry came forward to wish her a speedy recovery through social media handles, while many personally got in touch with her family to offer help.
