Southern super star Dhanush, recently announced the release date of his upcoming Vetri Maaran’s movie ‘Vada Chennai’. It is Tamil Cinema’s first ever Trilogy. The first installment of the movie is all set for its release on 17th October this year.

Considered to be Dhanush’s dream project, it is produced by his home venture Wunderbar Studios in association with Lyca Productions. He will be seen playing a National level Carom player called Anbu with Aishwarya Rajesh (Padma) as his love interest, Andrea Jeremiah (Chandra), Samuthirakani (Guna), Director Ameer (Rajan), Kishore (Senthil), Daniel Balaji (Thambi) as the other cast members playing pivotal characters.
This three part Gangster themed movie is said to be a different take on the gangster genre and has heavy political references and influences. Set in North Chennai, the story will span over 35 years beginning in the 1980s. The first part will cover first 20 years. It is one of the most expensive Tamil movies of the year, made on a close to 60 corer budget. The team has already shot for the second installment simultaneously with the first one.
‘Vada Chennai’ is Dhanush’s third movie with ace movie maker Vetri Maaran post Polladavan and Aadukalam. The latter won both Dhanush and Vetri National awards for Best actor and director, respectively.
