In a spectacular ensemble cast for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming project, Ramayana, more big names are joining the Hindu mythological epic’s world. This epic trilogy’s first part is already in production, and the cast continues to expand. The latest addition is Sunny Deol, who is set to join Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in the film. Reportedly, Sunny Deol will be portraying the character of Hanuman.

As previously reported, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are cast as the serene couple Ram and Sita, while Yash is set to play the character of Ravana. Given Sunny Deol’s action-packed image, particularly from his role in Gadar 2, it is believed he’s the perfect choice for portraying Hanuman. A source mentioned in a Pinkvilla report, “Hanuman symbolizes strength, and there’s no one better in the Indian film industry than Sunny Deol to represent what Bajrangbali stands for. The actor has expressed interest in being a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of Ramayana and is excited about playing Lord Hanuman. However, discussions are still in the early stages.”

Furthermore, the report also suggests that Nitesh Tiwari has plans for a spin-off film focusing on Lord Hanuman. This character offers numerous opportunities for further exploration in a standalone film. The source explained, “The Ramayana is just a small part of Lord Hanuman’s life, and there are many other aspects to his story. Nitesh wants to delve into these in a standalone film centred around Lord Hanuman. Everything needs to align, from the shoot schedule to the commitment to the franchise’s spin-offs and the financial structure.”

The Ramayana trilogy is expected to unfold in three separate parts, with the first part set for a shooting schedule in the first half of 2024. Fans are eagerly awaiting further confirmed details about this ambitious project.
