SS Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus, RRR, featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the leads continue to remain the talk of the town for its huge scale. The movie has been one of the most anticipated movies ever since the announcement and fans have been waiting for a very long time to watch the movie on the big screens. Despite the rumours of postponing the release amid the rising COVID cases, filmmaker SS Rajamouli asserts that the movie would be released on January 7, 2022.
The increasing Coronavirus cases across the country has again forced governments to impose restrictions to curb the spread of a resurgence and many filmmakers have already started to postpone their release. On Tuesday, the Delhi government announced a new set of restrictions and theatres were the first to shut down. While Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey has been pushed from its original release date of 31st December, there were reports that RRR will also be missing its release date. However, SS Rajamouli quashed such reports and decided to stay firm on the original release date.
It was earlier reported that the makers of RRR have requested fellow producers of Bheemla Nayak, F3 and Sarkaru Vaari Paata to delay the release of their movies to let RRR have a solo release. The movie is made on a huge budget and the producers were generous enough to postpone the release of their movies. However, if RRR postpones its release now, the rest of the producers will have to face the consequences of competing with the movie of the scale of RRR.
Helmed by SS Rajamouli, RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the male leads with Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn playing key roles in the movie.
