SS Rajamouli, the mastermind behind Baahubali and RRR, recently visited Japan to promote RRR: Behind and Beyond. During a fan interaction, he opened up about the Telugu films he’s most excited about, and his comments have sparked major buzz online.

Among the upcoming projects, Rajamouli expressed particular excitement for Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s highly anticipated action film, which he referred to as “Dragon”—a title that fans are now celebrating after a clip of his mention went viral on social media. He also mentioned Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Peddi, a film by Buchi Babu Sana starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor.

These films are creating massive anticipation, thanks to their star power, fresh collaborations, and pan-Indian appeal. Dragon is already in production and is expected to be released next year. Peddi is currently being filmed and is scheduled for release on March 27, 2026. Spirit, which has Prabhas playing a powerful police officer, is still in pre-production but has already generated buzz, especially after the success of Vanga’s Animal.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli is set to return from Japan and continue work on his upcoming epic, SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. As per recent updates, the film will now be made as a single part instead of a two-part saga. Filming will continue until mid-2026, with a release planned for Summer 2027.

With these powerful titles on the horizon and Rajamouli still shaping the future of Indian cinema, Telugu films are clearly ready to dominate the global stage once again.
