And the new batch of students from Dharma Productions’ larger than life cinematic universe of high school romance drama ‘Student Of The Year 2’ (SOTY2) are out for the grabs today with its first official trailer.
Directed by Punit Malhotra from the ‘I hate Luv Stories’ and ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ fame, the new batch consisting of Tiger Shroff, debutantes Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria are out to fight for St. Teresa’s Dignity Trophy.
Tiger Shroff plays Rohan, a guy from humble background & with ripped muscles, Mia (Tara) is an aspiring dancer and Shreya (Ananya) is your usual rich & bratty college princess.
The trailer takes us through the elite fantasy world of Saint Teresa students, the high level competition, Vanity, complicated high school relationships, friendships, rivalry, vengeance, break ups to recreation of old evergreen Bollywood songs.
The characters are cliche, so is the narrative, very similar to that of SOTY1, however SOTY2 is one of the most anticipated sequel of this year.
Produced by Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta in association with Fox Star studios, Hollywood sensation Will Smith will also be seen in a brief cameo, shaking his legs to some Bollywood thumkas in the movie.
The ensemble cast will also see Samir Soni, Aditya Seal, Abhishek Bajaj, Aru Krishansh Verma, Manoj Pahwa etc. in pivotal characters. The movie will hit the theatres all over India on May 10.
