The Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer cop-drama, Sooryavanshi, had been in the headlines for a while. The third instalment to the cop universe of filmmaker Rohit Shetty brings together Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar on the silver screen and the highly-speculated movie also reunites Akshay and Katrina after years. However, even though the actor announced a wrap for the movie, Rohit Shetty is not leaving any stones unturned to diversify his cinematic universe.
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif wrapped up the shooting for the cop-drama in the month of December last year but the crew kept on shooting for the movie with other characters. Director Rohit Shetty and writer Farhad Samji had been working on the characters of Sooryavanshi’s parents in the movie and recently, they added another character which is to be played by Jackie Shroff.
As per the sources close to the development of the cop-drama, Jackie Shroff shot for important scenes for the movie in the last week and the shooting schedule was carried out in the beautiful city of Ooty. While details about his character are still under wraps, the report suggests that he will be sharing frames with Abhimanyu Singh who will be playing the antagonist in the upcoming movie.
Helmed by Rohit Shetty and starring Akshay Kumar in the titular character alongside Katrina Kaif as his love interest, Sooryavanshi is slated to release on 27th of March, 2021.
