Sooraj Pancholi is set to headline his first biopic, Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath, portraying the courageous warrior Veer Hamirji Gohil. The historical action film is packed with intense battle sequences, and during one such high-stakes scene, the actor sustained injuries on set.
While shooting at Film City, Mumbai, Sooraj was injured during a critical action sequence. The stunt required him to leap over a pyrotechnic explosion. However, due to a mistimed detonation, the explosion went off slightly early, causing the pyrotechnics to ignite beneath him. The heavy use of gunpowder led to severe burns on his thighs and hamstrings.
Fortunately, a medical team was present on set and provided immediate care, helping Sooraj recover enough to stand. Despite the painful injuries, he showed remarkable determination by refusing to take a break and continued shooting to complete the schedule.
This incident not only highlights Sooraj Pancholi’s resilience but also showcases his dedication to his craft. His role in Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath, directed by Prince Dhiman, promises to reveal a new, intense side of the actor as he takes on a character rooted in history and valour.
The film revolves around a historic battle at the iconic Somnath temple in Gujarat. Joining Sooraj in pivotal roles are Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Akanksha Sharma. Vivek will reportedly play the antagonist, while Suniel Shetty’s character aids in defending the temple. Since the film’s announcement, it has generated significant buzz, leaving audiences eager to see this epic tale unfold on the big screen.
