Sonal Chauhan joins the cast of Mirzapur film adaptation alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal

Jannat-famed Sonal Chauhan is set to make her entry into the gritty world of Mirzapur, joining the cast of the highly anticipated film adaptation of Prime Video’s hit series. Sources close to the project confirm that Sonal has officially signed on and will play a pivotal role that adds a new dimension to the story. Her casting gained attention earlier this year when she was spotted at the film’s mahurat in August.

According to an insider, “Sonal Chauhan’s inclusion brings a fresh energy to the Mirzapur universe. Her character has depth and significance, adding another compelling layer to an already powerful narrative. The makers are keeping her role tightly under wraps, but it is said to be crucial to the film’s plot.”

The film marks the return of beloved characters such as Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal), Munna Tripathi (Divyenndu), and Golu Gupta (Shweta Tripathi). It also brings talented actors Abhishek Banerjee and Jitendra Kumar into the mix, expanding the Mirzapur universe further.

Backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the Mirzapur film promises to deliver the same gritty intensity that made the series a cultural phenomenon.

On the work front, Sonal Chauhan is also gearing up for her Punjabi debut with Shera, co-starring Parmish Verma. Written and directed by Savio Sanddhu, the film is slated for theatrical release on May 15, 2026.
