Sidharth Malhotra had completed the shooting of his next war action film based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra who martyred in the war of Kargil. While the shooting was completed early this year, a few patchworks were remaining but due to the Coronavirus induced lockdown, production activities were completely shut for months.
With new guidelines and precautionary measures in the Unlock phases, the entertainment industry started marching forward and the makers of Shershaah resumed production of the movie. Sidharth Malhotra, who plays Captain Vikram Batra and his twin brother in the movie, got back on the sets to complete the due patchwork of two days and wrapped up the movie for once and all. Sidharth had also shared some pictures from the set in Mumbai and filmed the portion with some cast members under proper precautionary measures.
For the unversed, Captain Vikram Batra fought his first major battle in 1999 and defeated the enemy to caption Point 5140. However, when his comrade lost his legs during an explosion, Vikram Batra went back to the base to save him and martyred on the spot. He was honoured with Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration, awarded for displaying distinguished acts of valour during wartime.
Helmed by Vishnuvardhan, Shershaah stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the prominent characters. The war action biographical is scheduled for 2020 release.
