Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra is still basking in the success of his last outing, Shershaah, which managed to entertain the audience and critics alike. While the actor made a much-awaited comeback with the biopic, he is all prepared to get into the shoes of a RAW agent for his next action thriller, Mission Majnu.
The movie was announced a while ago with Shantanu Bagchi making his directorial debut. Featuring Sidharth Malhotra in the lead, the movie has already created hype around it and the actor recently opened up more about his character in the highly-anticipated movie. “This is a film inspired by true events. It’s about an important mission that RAW did. It is more of a thriller than action. This is the first time I am playing a spy agent but it is not a James Bond character,” Shershaah actor said.
“I am somebody who keeps manipulating people to get information out. In that manipulation, I got an opportunity to play various shades that I had not in the past. It’s a tone and world that is completely fresh. I have not done a period film before. It was a new experience,” he continued as he shared more details about his character.
The movie will also mark the Bollywood debut of renowned South Indian film industry actor Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. “We are fortunate to have her in the film and introduce her to the Hindi audience. She is extremely talented and expressive. I saw her work in films but to see her as a co-actor was interesting. Our pairing will be fresh,” Sidharth added as he praised Rashmika for her work.
Helmed by Shantanu Bagchi, Mission Majnu went on the floors in March earlier this year and we can expect the movie to have a premier by early 2022.
