Following the spectacular performance in the biographical war film Shershaah, Indian actor Sidharth Malhotra is all prepped for another soldier character as he reunited with filmmaker Karan Johar for Yodha. Sidharth will begin filming a new schedule for the action thriller in Manali alongside Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna.
The action thriller, touted to be Dharma Productions’ first aerial action movie, will see Sidharth in a new avatar who fights terrorists who have hijacked an aircraft. The movie is loosely based on true events from the 90s with an intense army character played by Sidharth. Karan Johar announced the movie last year along with the first look at Sidharth’s character which got delayed due to the pandemic.
“After conquering the peaks, I am proud to present Sidharth Malhotra back with power in the first of the action franchise by Dharma Productions – #Yodha. Directed by the dynamic duo – Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha,” Karan had shared as he unveiled the first look of Yodha.
The movie was earlier offered to Shahid Kapoor but the actor had to walk out after facing date issues. Later, Sidharth Malhotra was brought on board and the movie completed the first few shooting schedules early this year with Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna filming the majority of their portions.
Helmed by debutant director duo Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, the movie will mark Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar’s fifth collaboration including the debut movie, Student of the Year. Meanwhile, Sidharth will also be seen playing a key role in Indra Kumar’s Thank God and the spy thriller Mission Majnu.
