Ayushmann Khurrana starrer black comedy thriller, Andhadhun, released in 2018 and earned critical acclaim for the performances by the lead cast. While Khurrana played the visually challenged protagonist, Tabu played a crucial role in the thriller drama. Now that the movie is being made in Telugu language, it was earlier learnt that Nithiin will play the lead character while the reports suggest that Shriya Saran will walk in the shoes of Tabu.

Helmed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the untitled Telugu remake was scheduled to go on the floors in the month of June but owing to the ongoing pandemic, the production was delayed. While the filmmakers have kept the cast and crew under tight wraps, reports suggest that Shriya Saran was approached to essay the antagonist in the movie and she nodded for the same. While the character weighs high in the movie, her fans have expressed their excitement to see the actress in a negative role.

Shriya Saran will also be seen opposite Ajay Devgn in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which is touted to be the next big thing in the Indian film industry. Saran will play Devgn’s love interest in flashback portions of the movie. Meanwhile, Andhadhun is also being made in the Tamil language with Prashanth leading the movie. The Tamil version of the thriller will be helmed by Mohan Raja while the rest of the cast is yet to be unveiled.
