The year 2018 witnessed the success of horror-comedy, Stree, featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee amongst others and started Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe. The movie was a critical and commercial success and there have been reports of a sequel-in-making for the longest.
Now, as per the latest developments, the movie will be getting a prequel instead with Shraddha Kapoor reprising her character from the first instalment. Dinesh Vijan has been working on many characters in the same horror-comedy universe and plans to produce origin stories of each before they unite in Varun Dhawan starrer Bhediya.
If the reports are to be believed, the sequel to Stree will tell the story of a girl who had come to Stree and a series of complications that she had got along. Shraddha Kapoor will play her character of the unnamed lady from the first instalment to the franchise and we might expect cameos from the rest of the cast as well as new additions. Shraddha is also likely to make an appearance in Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya which is being added to the Stree and Roohi universe.
Shraddha Kapoor is currently busy filming for Luv Ranjan’s next with Ranbir Kapoor in Spain and expected to join the Stree 2 team in August. The horror-comedy will be helmed by by Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar.
