The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has widened its investigation into the Mahadev App case, with actress Shraddha Kapoor being the latest celebrity to receive a summons. She is scheduled to appear before the ED on Friday, October 6. The ED is looking into whether the payment she received for endorsing the app may have originated from illicit sources.
This development follows the summoning of other Bollywood celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Kapil Sharma, and Hina Khan in connection with their involvement in promoting the Mahadev App. Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan were summoned for their alleged roles in promoting the app, while Kapil Sharma was called in for attending the app’s success party in Dubai last September.
Ranbir Kapoor, too, has been issued a summons by the ED in relation to the same case and is expected to appear before them on October 6, 2023. The actor is alleged to have received cash payments for his promotional activities related to the betting app.
The investigation by the Enforcement Directorate into the Mahadev App case continues to expand, with several prominent figures from the entertainment industry being questioned about their roles in promoting and associating with the app.
As the probe unfolds, more details regarding the level of involvement of these celebrities in the betting app case are anticipated to surface.
