Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are all set to star in the highly anticipated horror comedy, Stree 2, which is slated to start filming in July 2023. The first instalment of the movie was a sleeper hit in 2017, grossing more than Rs 125 crore at the box office and introducing horror comedies as a mainstream genre in Hindi Film Industry. According to sources, Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan are working diligently to take Stree 2 to the next level.
The production team is determined to provide an unforgettable experience for fans of the franchise, and the script is already in its final stages. Stree 2 will begin pre-production in April, with filming commencing in July. Both Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are returning to the movie to take part in new and exciting adventures.
In addition to the two leads, Stree 2 will feature a special appearance by Varun Dhawan as Bhediya. This movie will mark the first time characters from the horror universe crossover into one another’s narratives. While Bhediya made a brief appearance in Stree’s end credits, it was not a part of the screenplay.
Aside from Stree 2, Dinesh Vijan is also working on another horror-comedy titled Munjha, which features Sharvari Wagh and a host of other talented actors from the Hindi Film Industry. The movie is directed by Aditya Satpodar. At the same time, Vijan’s robo-based rom-com, directed by Amit Rai and starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, is already in production.
