Post the phenomenal success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor has raised the bar high for his next project and the actor has been working hard to get into the shoes of his character for his upcoming sports drama, Jersey. While Jersey is the official Hindi remake of the superhit Telugu language film of the same name, Shahid had a tough time training to perfect his character of a cricketer.
Earlier, it was reported that the Kabir Singh actor met with an injury during the practice session for the movie and he had to get stitches on his lower lip. Following the news, his fans had been showing concern for the actor and deliberately asking for his condition over the social media networks. Listening to the plea of his followers, Shahid Kapoor took to his Twitter handle to thank his fans and update on his injury.
On the micro-blogging website, Shahid Kapoor tweeted, “Thank you for all the concern. Yes I have got a few stitches but am recovering fast. #jersey has taken a little bit of my blood but a script this good deserves that in the least. Have a good one you all. Keep it real. Make it count. Spread the love. Humanity above all.”

The actor was earlier spotted with wife, Mira Rajput, where he was seen covering his face with a mask. As per a source close to the development of the movie, Shahid Kapoor is working towards a speedy recovery from the unfortunate injury and may resume the shooting in a week. Helmed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in prominent characters and marks a reunion of the father-son duo after four years.
